MY JUL-AUG’12 BEAUTY BUYS

My July/August Beauty Stash that includes stuff from Maybelline, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, The Face Shop, Clio & Illamasqua β˜†

How did I end up with so much stuff? Hmm, let me see… the story goes like this:

The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette was a birthday gift I had desired & chose. So was the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, which I had used Sephora vouchers (a thoughtful birthday gift from 2 of my gfs) to purchase.

There was a sale at The Face Shop, & a girlfriend who was a member wanted to check it out. In the end, I was the one who walked out with 2 purchases 😦  And one fine day, I ended up at Sasa and as there was a promotion going on for Maybelline, I decided to purchase their new BB stick (which, unfortunately, sucks for me) & then along with a cute face mask in a “bag” packaging, a box of eye masks & a bottle of my favorite Evian spray.

My makeup artist angels highly recommended this professional brand Illamasqua & I decided to buy 2 of their products which were on sale online. And I continue to be besotted with Clio eyeliners & went to purchase the nude colored one, making it the 5th Clio eyeliner I own so far.

No, I don’t think I can stop buying more makeup because it’s just impossible & I get depressed even thinking about it. At least I do wear & use makeup, so there are essential stuff that gets cleaned out most of the time, like face powder, concealers & eyebrow pencils. And because I like to try new makeup, I do end up with different brands all the time.

The only thing I am loyal to is the brands of the cotton wool I use for my face. One’s from Sasa and the other’s from Daiso – which I will touch upon in a later post πŸ˜‰

THE L’OREAL SPREE

Check out my spoils from yesterday’s beauty spree at the L’Oreal sale at Expo (Level 2, Foyer 2)! There aren’t a lot of items to look at, and I didn’t find any makeup that caught my eye so I settled for the skincare items instead, which were going mostly for $10 each. And I got 2 hair products too! One is a spray for volume effect and another is, as described by the lady behind the table, “like a BB cream for the hair”. I tried the texture and I like it that it’s not too gooey/sticky – I prefer light hold for my short hair so I can style it easily and not feel like it’s too rigid. Anyway, it’s always good to try products so you know if you like the smell and feel πŸ˜€ The sale is till this Sunday (11 Sep), so do pop by if you happen to want to stock up on beauty products! L’Oreal products work pretty well for me so that’s why I buy… skincare is a very individual thing, so don’t ask me if it’s good or not ‘cos what works for me may not work well for you πŸ˜‰ But the trick is to buy when there’s a sale so you can try… and won’t feel the pain or loss if it doesn’t work miracles for you!

p/s. In case you are wondering, the brands I saw going on sale are L’Oreal, Maybelline, Garnier, Vichy, Redken and L’Oreal Professional.

MAJOLICA & MAYBELLINE

A new subtle eye look for today: Brown eyeliner on the top + silver & yellow eyeliner on the bottom. Love my natural-looking lashes, although they are not really recognizable, ha!

WATSONS is having an INCREDIBLE SALE again & I couldn’t help but buy this glittery eyeshadow that I’ve been eyeing for so long from Majolica πŸ˜‰Β  Don’t ask me what I need it for; I’m sure I’ll put it to use one day… at least buying it during a sale doesn’t make me feel so guilty for buying an item I don’t really need πŸ™‚

And then I spotted Pulse Perfection by Maybelline on the shelves & got super excited about it… even though I have 10 mascaras, I just decided that I must get my hands on this because it’s a limited edition & it’s a vibrating mascara! I haven’t tried one before, so it’s a perfect excuse to get one to try… right? Go get one now!

Have been so busy lately that I’ve haven’t had many chances to try out all the new makeup I’m piling up in my drawer… Only thing is, I will only put on makeup when I’m in a darn good mood; when I have plenty of time to doll up, which is like 1 to 2 hours πŸ˜› Although, I must say that having this blog is not just a super good excuse to buy more makeup, but also to use MORE makeup, which I am doing very diligently these days!

p/s. I aim to try the mascara this week!
