One of the top girl bands in the Kpop scene, Girls Generation (SNSD) recently launched a new album called “Run Devil Run”, in which the looks worn by the 9-members-band proved to be an eye-catching a trend nationwide. With the increasing number of girl bands in Korea these days, I guess this is the best way to stand out 😉
So what does SNSD stands for? It is the the acronym for their Korean names – So Nyeo Shi Dae (소녀시대, or So Nyuh Shi Dae).
The girls are featured in Korean dramas as well as advertisements for Korean food and electronic products. Lately, they have also been appointed the Honorary Ambassadors for the Korea Airport.
If you are interested to check out the individual profiles of these girls, check them out here 🙂
Who is your favorite among the 9? For me, I like Seo Hyun the most!
And I’m going to dedicate a look to these girls… soon!

I don’t think I need to emphasize on the popularity of the No. 1 Hit song for this band as I’m pretty sure almost everyone across the globe has heard the different language versions of “Nobody”. It is the ‘in’ ringtone for many around me & even my baby niece can sing & dance along to the song 😀
Officially debuted in 2007, the music career for Wonder Girls has not been exactly smooth-sailing. Plagues by accidents & health issues, they delayed the success of their launch in the first mini album “The Wonder Begins”. However, in 2008, they were a big hit with their full album “The Wonder Begins” with “Tell Me” and “So Hot” hitting the charts followed by the famous hit, “Nobody”.
Each of the 5 members were carefully selected through auditions under JYP Entertainment by Park Jin Young (singer-songwriter). And the average age among the members back then were 15 to 18 years old! I guess it’s always better to start young? The group began their entry into the American market in 2009, with their lead single “Nobody”, which also became the first song by a Korean group to enter the ‘Billboard Hot 100’. Great achievement, don’t you think so?
Throughout the career of Wonder Girls, there has been a change of at least 2 members. In 2007, Hyuna was replaced by Yubin due to health concerns & in 2010, Sunmi was replaced by Hye Rim when she decided to pursue an academic career. Interestingly, when JYP Entertainment announced that the Wonder Girls would be joining the Jonas Brothers on the North American leg of the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009, both Sunmi & So-hee had dropped out of high school as it was not possible to attend school while in the US. Choose between studies & career – so hard!
I had a tough time trying to differentiate each of the 5 members; if you want to know more about them in details, visit WonderGirls at WordPress!
